The Minister of Science and the Director of the Space Agency of Malaysia Visit SAASST

The Honorable Dato' Sri Dr. Adham bin Baba, Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, and Mr. Azlikamil bin Napiah, the Director-General of Malaysia Space Agency (MYSA), visited the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology on Mar. 29, 2022. Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, the University of Sharjah Vice-Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies greeted the Malaysian delegation at the academy. SAASST deputy general

directors, Prof. Ilias Fernini, Mr. Marwan Shwaiki, and Mr. Khaled Al-Raboy, were present.

The Malaysian delegation was very pleased by the achievements of both the University of Sharjah and SAASST. Prof. Maamar discussed the possible areas of cooperation between UoS/SAASST and the different research educative sectors of Malaysia, especially in space applications. This looks very promising since the delegation enjoyed the visit and was very impressed by the various components of the facility: public outreach, academics, and research.
