SAASST UAEMMN Detects a Huge Fireball

A spectacular fireball was captured by the UAE Meteor Monitoring Network (UAEMMN) on Sunday, Oct. 30, 2022. This fireball belongs to the Taurid meteor shower, which occurs every year from the end of October to the beginning of November when the debris stream from Comet 2P/Encke hits Earth.

Many more of these fireballs are on the horizon. Furthermore, the rate of such fireballs is expected to increase this year as the "Taurid Swarm" approaches. This swarm was created when Jupiter's gravity pulled some meteoroids into a distinct cloud.
