SAASST Participation in SPIE Defense + Commercial Sensing 30 April - 4 May 2023 (Orlando, FL, USA)

Eng. Yousuf Faroukh from the CubeSat Laboratory at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology and the University of Sharjah participated in the SPIE conference held in Orlando during the period 30 April – 4 May 2023.

The theme of the conference was Defense + Commercial Sensing. Eng. Yousuf presented five papers:

  1. Sharjah-Sat-2: a low-cost, high-resolution Earth observation microsatellite.
  2. Monitoring and validation of GNSS signal's integrity using Sharjah-Sat-2 microsatellite.
  3. Utilization of Sharjah-Sat-1 improved x-ray detector for space situational awareness.
  4. Applications of autonomous rovers for radiometric surveillance.
  5. Design and build a bionic arm.
