NGC 315 is associated with a giant elliptical galaxy with two jets on either side (R. Chen et al. 2012). A bright main jet and a short, diffused counterjet were detected by the VLBI (Venturi et al. 1993). The NGC 315 galaxy group consists of about 60 published galaxies with known redshifts, 40 percent of which are concentrated near the NGC 315 radio galaxy.
At SAASST, we report a radio image of the bright galaxy NGC 315 at 1.4 GHz using the Sharjah 5-m radio telescope. The radio map below shows parts of the Z – shaped galaxy, highlighted with contour lines. This observation was made as a part of our survey of Giant Radio Sources (GRS).
