Exploded Sunspot Causes a Double Radio Burst

The Low-Frequency Radio Telescope at SAASST detected two radio bursts on Friday, 8 July 2022. The first radio burst occurred at 08:18 UT (12:18 UAE local time), while the second one, a double burst, was at 11:25 UT (15:25 UAE local time) in the HF radio band only.

Both of these bursts are classified as Type III solar storms. The possible reason for this emission is the active area surrounding the large sunspot AR3053. This sunspot erupted later the same day at 20:49 UT (00:49 UAE local time), resulting in an M2.5-class solar flare that caused a brief shortwave radio blackout over North America's Pacific coast.
