SAASST Lecture Report on SPIE Conference Eng. Yousuf Faroukh

Eng. Yousuf Faroukh, a system engineer at the CubeSat Laboratory at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology, gave a lecture on Jun. 07, 2023, about his SPIE conference attendance.

The SPIE conference was held in Orlando from Apr. 30 – May 04, 2023. The theme of the conference was Defense + Commercial Sensing. Eng. Yousuf presented five papers:

  1. Sharjah-Sat-2: a low-cost, high-resolution Earth observation microsatellite.
  2. Monitoring and validation of GNSS signal's integrity using Sharjah-Sat-2 microsatellite.
  3. Utilization of Sharjah-Sat-1 improved x-ray detector for space situational awareness.
  4. Applications of autonomous rovers for radiometric surveillance.
  5. Design and build a bionic arm.
